At Essex Youth Theater, every child is a star.

Essex Youth Theater has been Montclair’s premiere theater arts school for young people for over 30 years.  Our unique program lets every child shine. 

OUR PROGRAM

Custom-written scripts provide every child with an equal role.  Class size is kept small, with each child receiving lots of individual attention. 

Ours is an atmosphere of fun learning, where self-esteem and self-confidence are our primary emphasis.  We provide a nurturing, caring environment where every child blossoms.  Each child is gently encouraged to explore their natural creativity, build theatrical skills, and experience the indescribable feeling of accomplishment through the joy of performing.

OUR TEACHERS
Our teachers are professional directors specially trained in children's theater. Skilled artists, they bring many years of experience, as well as a love and understanding of young actors, to every class.

OUR FACILITY
We are in residence at The Studio Playhouse, 14 Alvin Place in Upper Montclair, (right by the Acme on Valley Road). The big, beautiful Playhouse stage gives our students a performance to remember!
